Why right now is the best time to be in the 4wd industry!

The 4wd industry in Australia has never had it so good!  It is simply the best time to be in our industry, i'll explain why.

The numbers are impressive!  According to VFacts, Australians have never bought and sold more vehicles than they are right now.  June 2017 saw 134,171 vehicles sold in Australia, that equates to 3 vehicles every minute!!!

Out of that mammoth amount of vehicles, most of them are either 4wds or SUV's, which is great for us!  Toyota and Ford are killing it, with the top two selling vehicles, the Hilux and the Ranger now dominating the market it clearly shows that dual cab utes are the vehicle of choice for most Australian's.

The poor old Holden Commodore is no longer king of the mountain, Australia's top selling vehicle for 14 years in a row, the Commodore now barely scraopes in to the top 20 selling vehicles (9 places behind the Holden Colorado).  As 4wds and SUVs become more driver friendly, fuel efficient, easier to park, safer and generally more comfortable to drive, it's no wonder Mums and Dads around the country now favour dual cab utes!

Not only are the sales numbers gargantuan, but there's a seemingly endless amount of ways you can now personalise your vehicle!  Whether it is to suit a particular purpose, or for asthetic reasons, the number of ways in which you can modify your vehicle and make it truly your own is staggering!

Never before have we seen so many great options for personalising your 4wd than we do right now.  Even though the big players like ARB and TJM still hold market share, there are some really exciting players in the 4wd accessories game nowadays, who offer just as good a product in terms of quality, durability, looks and value for money.

Brands to keep an eye out for right now for bullbar options are Uneek4x4, AFN4x4 and RIVAL, while in the suspension space, Tough Dog, ICON and Fox are all worth considering, depending on your requirements.  As far as lighting goes, newcomers; Ultra Vision Lighting are lighting up the competition from Lightforce and Narva as far as Australian made LED auxilliary lighting options go.  With the latest tread designs and rubber compounds from the likes of BF Goodrich, Maxxis and Nitto, there is plenty of choice out there for the right tyres to suit the terrain.

With e-commerce usage and online content going gangbusters, getting your hands on thes accessories is getting easier and easier!

So what's left?  What's the next big innovation to hit our industry?  Electric powered 4wds from Tesla?  Or could it be something a little closer to home...

whatever it might be, it's definitely a great time to be part of the 4wd industry in Australia!
